GSF Auction General Information and Rules

Thank you very much for joining us for the Annual GSF Fundraiser! The fundraiser consists of 3 separate parts. There will be a Live Auction, a Silent Auction, and a Raffle.

To participate in the Live and Silent auctions you will need to sign up for a Bidding Number at the registration table. You will be given a Bid Paddle which you need to hold high up over your head when bidding in the live auction. Your Bid Number is what you will use, rather than your name, when bidding on silent auction items. With regard to the silent auction items please note the minimum bid requirement on each Bid Sheet, as well as the minimum raise for that item. Write your bid clearly so that no numbers are misinterpreted.

All trips with guides, outfitters/fly shops, and to lodges are provided in either of 2 ways. The first is “Bid Price Only”. This means that the amount you pay GSF is the total amount you will pay for the guide, outfitter, or lodge with the exception of tips, licenses, taxes, transportation costs, etc…

The second scenario is a “2 for 1”. In this case the winning bidder will, in addition to the amount paid to GSF, pay the lodge, guide, or fly shop/outfitter the amount shown for one person.  2 for 1 could also mean 2 days for the price of 1, so please read the bid sheet for each item to understand the details. It’s the winning bidder’s responsibility to make final payment and arrangements directly with Guide, Lodge, or Outfitter/Fly Shop for these items.

Regardless of how the item is purchased and won please base your tips on the full cost of each item. Also please make sure you understand any other rules and/or restricted blackout dates. Keep in mind that the time you plan on going may already be booked, so have a second and third choice. The trip date may also already be fixed, so again check the description. Where you have the choice to pick the date it’s best to make your plans right away. Unless otherwise specified each trip must be taken before December 31st of this year. You will need to make your arrangements directly with each guide, fly shop, or lodge.

The generosity of the guides, lodges, and outfitters cannot be overstated. With that in mind please don’t bid on an item you have already enjoyed. Once on trip please do not tell other patrons that you are paying less than they are. You are also not allowed to transfer your spot as the winning bidder (purchaser) to another party unless they are a member of GSF (we never want to see a trip resold by a member or a third party). Always keep in mind that it’s important to represent yourself and GSF well on these trips. They offer these trips with the hope of getting better exposure and that by talking about your trip to friends and colleagues you will help spread their name. To that end, we would also greatly appreciate a brief write-up of whichever trip you take that can be used for the GSF newsletter “Reading the Water”.

All other items are offered “as is”. While we have made every effort to obtain accurate information on the retail prices and other information provided here we do not assume responsibility for the descriptions or numbers shown. Apparently not everything on the Internet is accurate! If you question any of the data shown we encourage you to do your own research. Remember, those of us who have worked on pulling this fundraiser together are all volunteers who have put in a lot of time and effort, but we don't claim to be perfect.

GSF is not responsible or liable whatsoever for any property loss, damage, personal illness, injury or death occurring during or in connection with the usage of any item sold or won in the fundraiser. GSF makes no claim as to the condition of any item or suitability of any item for any use or application.

All sales are final and must be paid the evening of the fundraiser. No substitutions, exchanges or redemptions will be made. The cashier’s table will begin accepting payments after the bidding of live auctions items has closed. Credit cards, cash, or checks made payable to GSF will be accepted as payment.

Thank You, and let's all work to make this an enjoyable and successful event!
