Nymphing Class Announcement
Have you been interested in learning about or improving your tight line/Euro style nymphing abilities? Golden State Flycasters is offering a nymphing class focusing on tight line/Euro nymphing techniques.
The class will be taught by Mark Utter. Mark has extensive experience using tight line techniques to put many fish in the net.
The class will largely be a review of last year’s class with some updates and additional material.
The class will cover:
- What is tight line nymphing?
- Why tight line nymphing?
- Equipment including rod, rigging, and fly choices
- Presentation techniques including casting, managing the drift, hook set, and how to manage the fish after the hook set to get them in the net
- We will also spend some time on indicator techniques
The class is expected to last approximately 90 minutes. Participants should bring a folding/lawn chair and something to take notes with if desired.
As a bonus, Mark will provide a short on the water review during the Bishop trip for class participants. The cost of the class will be $50 payable upon registration on the GSF web site. All proceeds go to GSF to benefit club activities and programs. Register by hitting the
