We are planning a fishing trip to the Mammoth area May 11-15, 2005. The tentative plan is to carpool up on Wednesday, May 11, and return on Sunday, May 15. Lodging arrangements are at Convict Lake Resort. You can book your cabin by visiting www.convictlake.com and calling Dennis at the Resort. Be sure to mention GSF to get a discount. Possible fishing opportunities in the area include Convict Lake, Lake Crowley, Upper Owens River, Hot Creek and Hat Creek. The Upper Owens is particularly good for beginners because there are no trees or bushes. There are also a number of other fisheries within an hours drive. We will team up beginners with experienced fly fishers so the beginners can become more proficient.
