Kern River Trip 2007

The upper and lower portions of the Kern River near Kernville offer Southern California fly fishermen and women a close and productive stream capable of producing some excellent trout. Our plan is to drive to the lower portion of the Kern River on Friday, October 19th and fish that afternoon and evening. We will then travel to Kernville where we recommend the Kernville Inn, Kern River Lodge or Sequoia Lodge as possible low-cost accommodations (approximately $100 double occupancy). On Saturday, we are tentatively planning to have a guide from —Kern River Troutfitters? spend the morning teaching us how to fish the Kern River or alternatively we can hire a guide or guides for the whole day. We will wrap up our trip on Sunday either fishing the upper portion of the Kern River or returning back to the lower Kern River on our way back to the San Diego area.
